CFC NEWSLETTER, AUG-SEPT 2026 — FURRIES VORING OUR ROOM BLOCK
To our future attendees,
We come to you in our darkest hour. At approximately 20:00 hours on Wednesday, August 26th, our room block launched… and was immediately eaten alive by YOU. Yes, YOU. Our room block was so young and full of life! We even set aside a college fund and everything and they were immediately eaten by fuzzy creatures! We never thought you all could devour a hotel, it's a building!
Anyway, now that our silly newsletter opener has your attention, there's a ton of things we need to discuss that have happened since late July. As previously mentioned, our room block has opened and you all decimated our room count. Additionally, several staff on our team ventured out to conventions such as Furrydelphia and Megaplex in August. We're also nearing the end of several deadlines as well! So sit back, buckle up and lock in. We're diving right into this newsletter!
The Room Block in the Room
The first and most important thing we need to address is the room block. So far things have launched smoothly, but there are several important topics we need to discuss to make sure our attendees have their room bookings in order. We don't want you to show up at the convention with an incorrect booking!
To better assist attendees with booking, we're going to go through a step-by-step guide here:

Create and register for Capital FurCon at our registration portal here: reg.capitalfurcon.org

Once you have registered for a tier (this assumes regular, sponsor and super sponsor), you will have the ability to access the "Hotel Reservations" tab on the left. This is where you will go to create a reservation.

On this page, you will see a few options. We have a few blocks available with slightly different options visible* **. The two main options are:
It should be noted that two types of booking options are available at the Gaylord. For CFC, we offer the following options:
- General Block - This is your standard room block, perfect for the average attendee!
- Event Block - This is the block for those looking to invite friends over to hang out during the con or host an event! You can be a bit louder here.
Simply select the option that fits your preferred convention experience better and click "Book a room" for your preferred block!
*If you are Super Sponsor, you have two additional options visible, these were just early access and are functionally the same.
**Additionally, Gay Lord tiers have their own donation booking block. If you're that tier, please use that option instead to book.

Once you select your preferred room block, you will arrive at the booking page:
All you need to do at this point is simply enter the days you want to check in and out of the hotel! If you are planning to stay for all four days and leave on Monday, your boxes should look like this:

Once you have your dates, you just need to hit search and rooms with the availability you've selected will be listed below:
We have two room types which are the following:
- Deluxe Guest Room - This is a run-of-house room which means that you are willing to take any room type of your preference that is available at check-in. By default, assume that booking this can result in a king room. If a double queen room is available, you can request that room instead.
- Deluxe Queen Room - This is a room featuring two queen beds, guaranteed!
*Additionally, if all non-atrium rooms are sold out, you can potentially receive a random upgrade to an atrium room at our rate. Upgrading to an atrium room if non-atrium rooms are available will result in a rate outside of our convention rate.
Simply select the room type you want and reserve your room. One night payment is required up-front before your stay with the rest charged when you arrive.

Make sure you submit your booking and receive your confirmation email! That's it, you're done!
As We Grow
As most of our attendees have probably noticed on our social media and convention platforms such as Telegram and Discord, we've been slammed with room bookings. We're currently reviewing our current inventory every day and working with the hotel to acquire more rooms to meet demand. If you're unable to secure a room immediately, please be on the lookout for additional rooms as well as notices that we'll release as more rooms become available.
For now, we thankfully have plenty of inventory available to request from the hotel, so please be on the lookout for additional announcements on availability. We highly encourage those of you who want to get a room for CFC to get a room sooner rather than later!
Furrydelphiaplex
As mentioned in the intro, several of our staff attended both Furrydelphia and Megaplex in August. We were really happy to meet several of our future attendees at these conventions and happy to hear a lot of the enthusiasm around CFC. Several of our staff will be venturing around at other conventions throughout the remainder of this year in unofficial capacity. Feel free to say hello as you see us!
Upcoming Deadlines
We would like to take the time to throw out a reminder. Our vendor applications have now closed, so we would like to thank everyone who entered to vend at CFC. Please remember that even if you don't get accepted in the coming month, we will be continually accepting Artist Alley applications until it is full.
For the deadlines that are still active, if you are interested, please apply to the following below:
- DJ & Performer Applications - Open until December 1st, 2026
- Dance Competition Applications - Open until January 31st, 2027
Panel (& Meetup/Misc Event) applications closed on September 15th, and early bird pricing for registration ended on October 1st. Thank you to everyone who applied and registered early!
